Our Matboards are made of industry standard alpha-cellulose (wood pulp) fibers that are chemically treated to neutralize acids and lignins that can break down both the matboard and the artwork that is being framed. Alpha-cellulose matboards are suitable for certain levels of conservation picture framing and can serve as a premium option to non-conservation matting.
